Sourcing the Product
All right, this week has been a bit better. While there is something I still need to get better at, at least I'm understanding more. This week we focused on the difference between affiliate marketing and drop shipping. Both are similar in their purpose but the main difference is that affiliate marketing directs customers to the main website to buy and receive the product while drop shipping is where your business receives the customer’s order and forwarded that order to the manufacturer where they will deliver it. I will focus my report with affiliate marketing, this plan has the least amount of risk compared to other business paths. The reason why it doesn't have to risk is because the main responsibility of an affiliate marketer is to promote a product through their network of choice whether it is their own website, blog, social media, or even paid ads. There they will direct the customers through an affiliate link that leads to the main affiliate program to buy that product. Publishers would receive a commission from a sale if that customer had come from their website. The range for the amount of commission will depend on the business's contract. Since affiliate marketers are tasked to draw in as many customers as possible, they are hardly responsible to handle any of the other issues or tasks other businesses face.
